Running Wild is one of the most influential bands in German heavy metal history. Founded by Rolf Kasparek (Rock 'n' Rolf) in Hamburg, the band started as a dark, occult-themed speed metal act. Before they raised the Jolly Roger, Running Wild operated in the dark, satanic imagery prevalent in the early 1980s European underground scene.
