Follow these steps to construct a flawless, inescapable piston trap.
Cover the piston and the adjacent empty space with any block that matches your floor (grass, stone, wood). Place a carpet or a pressure plate on top of the covered piston. Wait – don't place it on the hole itself! The pressure plate should trigger the piston.
