Java software support for DB2 products

You require the appropriate level of IBM® Software Development Kit (SDK) for Java™, listed later in this section, to use Java-based tools and to create and run Java applications, including stored procedures and user-defined functions.

If the IBM SDK for Java is required by a component being installed and the SDK for Java is not already installed in that path, the SDK for Java will be installed if you use either the DB2® Setup wizard or a response file to install the product.

The SDK for Java is not installed with IBM Data Server Runtime Client or IBM Data Server Driver Package.

The following table lists the installed SDK for Java levels for DB2 products according to operating system platform:

Operating System Platform SDK for Java level
AIX® SDK 6 Service Release 3
HP-UX for Itanium-based systems HP SDK for J2SE HP-UX 11i platform, adapted by IBM for IBM Software, Version 6 Service Release 3
Linux® on x86 SDK 6 Service Release 3
Linux on AMD64/EM64T SDK 6 Service Release 3
Linux on zSeries® SDK 6 Service Release 3

What makes Winsoft Pro Bold a go-to for designers? Here are its defining features: The result is a typeface that commands attention

The loops of letters like MeeM (م), Faa (ف), and Qaaf (ق) are kept intentionally open. This structural choice ensures that even on low-resolution screens or cheap newsprint, the characters remain instantly recognizable to the reader. Technical Prowess: OpenType Mastery

: As a "Bold" variant, it has a heavier stroke weight (typically equivalent to a numerical value of 700 ) compared to the regular version. This provides high visual density, making it ideal for emphasis or headings .

Winsoft Pro is often bundled with professional design software or available through major type foundries. If you are looking to use it for web projects, ensure you have the proper .woff2 files and licensing to maintain fast load times and legal compliance. Conclusion

To understand why Winsoft Pro Bold performs so well across different mediums, we must first look at its structural characteristics. It is not simply a regular font stretched or artificially thickened; it is a meticulously crafted weight designed to maximize optical clarity. Distinct Design Traits and complex Arabic scripts with ease.

In Arabic, vowel marks (diacritics) sit above or below letters. Winsoft Pro Bold features precise GPOS (Glyph Positioning) anchoring, meaning diacritics will never collide with the main letterforms, even in the dense Bold weight.

Winsoft Pro Bold is far more than just a heavy weight; it is a versatile design tool built for clarity, impact, and modern professionalism. By understanding its structural strengths, pairing it thoughtfully, and giving it the layout space it deserves, you can transform ordinary designs into authoritative, visually stunning communication pieces.

(approximately 7.46% of the available code points across these blocks).

This is an ideal choice for projects requiring extensive multilingual support, particularly those involving non-Latin scripts. It handles Cyrillic, Greek, and complex Arabic scripts with ease. For a designer working on documentation or interfaces for international markets, Winsoft Pro Bold removes the headache of finding a secondary font to support specific glyphs. The bold weight stands up well alongside its Regular and Light counterparts, creating a cohesive hierarchy in technical documents.

Supported Java application development software

The following table lists the supported levels of the SDK for Java. The listed levels and forward-compatible later versions of the same levels are supported.

Because there are frequent SDK for Java fixes and updates, not all levels and versions have been tested. If your database application has problems that are related to the SDK for Java, try the next available version of your SDK for Java at the given level.

Non-IBM versions of the SDK for Java are supported only for building and running stand-alone Java applications. For building and running Java stored procedures and user-defined functions, only the IBM SDK for Java that is included with the DB2 Database for Linux, UNIX, and Windows product is supported.
