Armand found the old PSP under a stack of college notebooks, its once-bright face dulled by dust but still warm with memories. He ran his thumb along the UMD slot, remembering late-night races, frantic saves, and a screen full of pixelated suns. The battery still held a little spark, and when the wallpaper of a long-sidelined homebrew icon blinked to life, he laughed aloud.
To appreciate the "Infinity 2.0 pack," one must first understand the PSP's complex history with custom firmware (CFW).
Install CXMB for custom themes, CWCheat for game cheats, or the "NoDRM" engine to run decrypted DLC.
Under the "Boot Loader" options selection, highlight (or ME CFW depending on what you chose in Phase D) and press X .
Inside the PRO CFW installer screen, press to flash the custom firmware modules.
MrMario2011’s pack usually includes both. You can switch between them via the Infinity Configuration app.
This guide breaks down everything you need to know about this permanent homebrew solution. What is Infinity 2.0?
Plug your PSP into your PC via USB. It is best to start fresh to avoid file conflicts. Right-click the removable disk and select (FAT32 is the standard). This creates a clean slate.
| Model | Compatibility | Notes | | :--- | :--- | :--- | | | Perfect | The original model. Very safe to flash. | | PSP-2000 (Slim) | Perfect | All motherboards, including TA-088v3. | | PSP-3000 | Perfect | Infinity 2.0 was designed for this model. | | PSP Go (N1000) | Perfect | Works with M2 storage and internal memory. | | PSP Street (E-1000) | Perfect | No wi-fi, but CFW works fine for offline games. |
Now, go play some games. Your PSP has earned its second life.
No need to re-run a fast-recovery tool after a power down.
The 6.61 Infinity 2.0 method provides a permanent custom firmware (CFW) solution for all PSP models (1000-3000, Go, Street) on official firmware 6.61. This streamlined process by MrMario2011 involves installing a base CFW (PRO or LME), applying the Infinity 2.0 patch, and configuring it for permanence via the Infinity app menu.
